Since the year 2000 the business has been located in a rural setting close to Lochgelly Loch and run by myself Margaret Dick (Daughter of John Dick and Grandaughter to George Dick)

‘John Dick Saddler Lochgelly ‘ is still synonymous with ‘The School Belt AKA The Lochgelly Tawse or just plain ‘Lochgelly ‘ and you have the opportunity here to immerse yourself in the history of Old Lochgelly, corporal punishment and The Lochgelly Tawse. You can also purchase your own replica Lochgelly, the tawses for sale on this page cover the era from the early 1970’s but I am happy to make you one from earlier versions using original stamps and patterns from my Father’s,  Grandfather’s or even Robert Philp’s design.
