Description

This version of the Lochgelly Tawse was made by my father from the early 1970’s (see history pages for more information)

It comes in 2 weights Medium or Heavy (see my other listing), with the option of 2 or 3 tails and a choice of 2 different maker’s stamps or Logos.

It was traditionally burnished with wax to a dark tan colour but I’m offering the option of dark brown too, the dark brown wax highlights the natural grain of the hide producing an aged patina.

These belts are made from one solid piece of Buffalo Hide and are flexible enough to roll or wear over your shoulder as School Masters often did back in the day. This Medium weight is ideal for this I personally think the Heavy weight is just too thick to comfortably roll or wear. It will be supplied flat and unrolled so it’s entirely up to you.

This leather is veg tanned and heavily wax burnished it will not require a lot of care but please avoid exposure to bright sunlight or heat, a wee polish up occasionally with a wax polish is all that’s required.
